Student Recitals and Informal Performance Classes
Performance is the key element in unifying the many facets of Elly Lim Music Studio educational experience. Every year, students are encouraged to participate in our student recitals and/or informal performance classes. Public performances give students an opportunity to demonstrate their achievements and to enjoy making music with their peers.
There will be faculty recitals from time to time to inspire students, enhance their educational experience, and provide musical enrichment for the community.
A basic knowledge of the theory of music is inseparable from a successful musical performance. It makes students more fully aware of the factors that govern their interpretation, and deepens their awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the elements that make up a piece of music. Weekly theory classes are offered in all levels.

Ensemble and Chamber Music Experiences
Advanced (and some intermediate) students have the opportunity for ensemble and chamber music experiences. Students will be introduced to the skills and techniques necessary for collaboration with other instrumentalists or singers. Performances may be part of the recitals.
Frequent master classes provide opportunities to learn the fine points of virtuoso performance from our outstanding faculty members and world-class guest artists.
Children's Music Course
We are pleased to offer our newest course that is specially designed for children from age 2 to 5. Recent studies have shown the positive effect of music on human intelligence and creativity. Music learning is especially important for children under the age of 5, when their brains are still at a developmental stage. With that in mind, we have carefully designed and created this special course for children, that is intended to stimulate children’s sensory organ while they are learning in a fun and enjoyable environment. In this course, children learn how to play and read music, singing, art and craft activities, coloring, sticker pasting, ‘musical mathematics’, music theory, music history, and more.
